  • Polish artist Michal Wasiak's sculptures are dedicated to representational art that is significantly influenced by the aesthetics of science fiction, post-apocalypse, and cyberpunk. His works offer pictorial representations that focus on the relationship between contemporary man and his environment, particularly the influence at the intersection of nature, culture, science, and technology.

  • “In my creative work I am currently focusing primarily on figuration (representational art). Based on the aesthetics of the Science-Fiction, Post-Apocalyptic (Post-Apo) and Cyberpunk trends, I try to metaphorically render the silhouette of modern man. His relationship with the environment and flows at the interface of the natural world, culture, science and technology.

I draw inspiration for my work and learn by studying the works of past and present masters of sculpture and other fine arts. A solid approach to art as a craft is important to me. For classical patterns and techniques, at the same time I try to find adequate contemporary working methods and means of expression.

Equally important to me, as individual creativity, is my teaching work at the Wroclaw University. Contact with young people - future artists - the opportunity to share my own experience, and at the same time to learn about the way they think about the world and art, gives me a lot of satisfaction, inspiration and motivation to continue my creative path.”
