Olha Pylnyk wurde am 19. April 1980 in Uzhhorod, Ukraine, geboren. Als Kind nähte sie viel, stickte und strickte zusammen mit ihrer Mutter. Sie machte ihren Abschluss an der Musikschule und träumte davon, Modedesignerin zu werden.

1995 besuchte sie die Hochschule für angewandte Kunst in Uzhhorod, Abteilung Keramik und wechselte im Jahr 1999 an die Nationale Kunstakademie in Lviv, erneut in die Abteilung der Keramik.
Nach ihrem Abschluss setzte sie ihre Arbeit mit Keramik fort. Sie gründete ihre eigene Keramikwerkstatt und präsentierte im Jahr 2007 Ihre erste Einzelausstellung in der Green Sofa Gellery, Lviv, und es war ein brillanter Start für die rasante Entwicklung dieser Künstlerin, die zahlreiche konzeptionelle Projekte in Zusammenarbeit mit der Green Sofa Gellery, Dzygha, dem Muzeum of Contemporary Arts of Ukraine und dem Artistic Arsenal realisiert hat.

Seit 1999 hat sie an mehr als 30 Gruppenausstellungen teilgenommen und hat Ihre Werke in 8 Einzelausstellungen in Kiew, Lemberg, Slowenien, Rumänien, Polen und Norwegen präsentiert. Jede neue Serie ihrer Werke ist innovativ und trägt gleichzeitig ihre eigene unverwechselbare künstlerische Handschrift. Die letzten Projekte der Jahre 2018-2020 waren Umweltthemen gewidmet. Auch im letzten Projekt verwendet sie Stricktechniken, die sie als Kind gelernt hat, in Ton. Heute gilt Olha als eine der beliebtesten und bekanntesten Künstler-Keramikerinnen in Lviv.

Statement
Als Kind habe ich viel gestickt. Ich war fasziniert von Handarbeiten, Stricken, Makramee und anderen Kunsthandwerken, und deshalb wollte ich ursprünglich Modedesignerin werden. Während meines Studiums der Keramik habe ich mich in dieses Material verliebt. Infolgedessen habe ich häufig modische Elemente in meine keramischen Arbeiten integriert. Und in meinem jüngsten Projekt habe ich begonnen, mit verschiedenen Webtechniken mit Leim zu experimentieren.

Olha Pylnyk was born on April 19, 1980 in Uzhhorod, Ukraine. As a child, she sewed a lot, embroidered, and knitted with her mother. She graduated from music school. She dreamed of becoming a fashion designer.

In 1995 she entered the Uzhhorod College of Applied Arts, Department of Ceramics. In 1999 - to the Lviv National Academy of Arts, and again to the Department of Ceramics.

After graduation she continued to work with ceramics. She started her own ceramics workshop. In 2007 Olha presented her first solo exhibition in the Green Sofa Gellery, Lviv and it was a brilliant start of crestive development of this artist following numerous conceptual projects realized in partnership with the Green Sofa Gellery, Dzygha, Muzeum of Contemporary Arts of Ukraine and Artistic Arsenal. Since 1999 she took part in more then 30 group exhibition and presented 8 personal displays in Kyiv, Lviv, Slovskia, Romania, poland and Norway. Every new series of her works is innovative and at the same time bears her own distinctive artistic handwriting. The latest projects of 2018-2020 were devoted to environmental issues. Also in the last project she uses knitting techniques, which she learned as a child, in clay. Nowadays Olha is considered to be one the most popular and famous artist-ceramist in Lviv. She is the owner of a creative ceramic worksop where she continues making her exclusive works.

Statement:
I used to do a lot of embroidery as a kid. I was fascinated with needlework, knitting, macrame, and other crafts and therefore I primary aspired to be a fashion designer. I fell in love with this material while studying in the ceramics department. As a result, I frequently included fashion elements in my ceramic pieces. And in my most recent endeavor, I began experimenting with various weaving techniques with glue.
